SUNDAY ROCK LEGACY – ANNOUNCE AUDITIONS FOR
“25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE “
SATURDAY, MAY 17, 10AM TO 2PM
at COLTON/PIERREPONT CENTRAL SCHOOL AUDITORIUM
Kimberly Busch, vocal music teacher at Canton Central, is the director.
Ages 16 and older. Please prepare 16-32 bars of a song from Broadway repertoire that best represents your range. There will be a cold read from the script.

An eclectic group of six mid-pubescents vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home life, the tweens spell their way through a series of words hoping to never hear the soul crushing, pout inducing, life un-affirming "ding" of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves! The cast of contestants are: Chip Tolentino, the reigning champ; Logainne Schwartzandgrubinniere, an overachiever; Leaf Coneybear, a home-schooled boy with wandering attention; William Barfee, a boy who spells with the help of his "Magic Foot;" Marcy Park, the ultimate overachiever who speaks six languages; Olive Ostrovsky, a lonely little girl; and four contestants who will be chosen from the audience. The adults who run the spelling bee are Rona Lisa Peretti, a long-time spelling bee hostess, local realtor, and 3rd Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee Champion , and Vice Principal Douglas Panch, a frustrated administrator of Lake Hemingway Dos Passos Junior High School.
